Executive Director of Special Services
Ozark R-VI School District is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director of Special Services to lead and support programs serving students with special learning needs from ages 3–21. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Learning, this exempt, 12-month position requires a specialist degree in educational administration (doctorate preferred), a valid DESE administrator certificate, and a minimum of three to five years of experience in special education and/or building administration. The Executive Director will provide districtwide leadership to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, oversee and evaluate special services personnel, manage budgets and specialized funding sources, coordinate contract and homebound services, and prepare required local, state, and federal reports. The role also involves close collaboration with district leadership and building administrators, guiding program development, providing professional development, supporting staff recruitment, and ensuring high-quality services for students. Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills are essential for success in this leadership position.
