Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supervise the special education process from referral to placement and act as a resource to building teams for Student learning strategies, eligibility staffing, and IEP development.
* Assist building administrators in the candidate selection process, professional development, supervisions and evaluation of special education personnel
* Coordinate in-service training related to special education and general education personnel
* Coordinate services provided to private parentally-placed students
* Coordinate and supervise contracted special services
* Prepare and administer the budgets for special services (IDEA, Federal Programs, ECSE, and PAT)
* Develop a systemic, comprehensive continuum of services to meet a wide range of student needs.
* Assume the legal responsibility of special education program and ESSA compliance with state and federal guidelines
* Administer/coordinate out-of-district placements, homebound services, ELL services, Homeless Services, Federal Programs, Parents As Teachers, 504 Accommodation Plans and Medicaid reimbursement
