7-12 Principal Chaparral Schools

Chaparral USD 361 is seeking a student-centered, experienced, and collaborative 7–12 Principal to lead Chaparral Jr./Sr. High School. The principal serves as the instructional and operational leader, fostering a positive school culture, high expectations for learning, and strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide strong instructional leadership for grades 7–12, supporting high-quality teaching and learning
• Build and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful school culture
• Supervise, support, and evaluate certified and classified staff
• Lead curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and continuous improvement efforts
• Ensure compliance with Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) regulations and district policies
• Oversee student discipline, attendance, and behavior supports
• Manage building operations, schedules, activities, and supervision
• Collaborate with the superintendent, district leadership, and community partners
• Support extracurricular activities and student engagement
• Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community members
