Principal/Superintendent - Altenburg District #48

The Missouri Association of Rural Education has been retained by the Altenburg District #48 Board of Education to conduct a search for their next Superintendent/Principal of Schools.  Altenburg District #48 School District is located in Perry County (Altenburg) in Southeast Missouri.

• Interviews Tentative Date – Week of October 20-24, 2025
• Anticipated Hire Date – November 6, 2025
• Contract Begins – July 1, 2026

Salary/Benefits Information:

• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000.
• Administrative experience preferred/ Central Office administrative experience preferred.
• Missouri Principal’s Certificate or eligibility thereof required.
• Missouri Superintendent’s Certificate or eligibility thereof preferred. 
• Board paid health insurance benefit.
• Initial multi-year contract may be offered.
• Living in close proximity to the district is required.
