Head Nurse
The Mexico Public School District is seeking application for the position of District Head Nurse (RN) for the 2023-2024 school year. This position is a nine-month position with benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse certification
- Currently licensed to practice in the state of Missouri
- Currently certified in CPR/1st Aid
- Two years related job experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
- Oversite of the District Nursing Staff
- Provide leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a coordinated school health program.
- Provide a system for prevention and control of communicable diseases; Implements board policy on exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious disease.
- Assess, plan, and implement age-appropriate screening programs and provide follow-up of referrals for identified health needs
- Observes and triage's students for illness and injury in the school setting according to protocols and school district policy.
- Maintains immunization records on all students and submits reports to the state as required.
- Administers medication according to the board policy
- Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid protocol.
- Trains and supervises LPNs, health aids and secretaries that cover the health office
CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
FLSA STATUS: Not Exempt
