The Board of Education of the Warrensburg R-VI School District, Warrensburg, MO, is seeking a highly qualified, dynamic educational leader to serve as Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position, July 1, 2023.
Located approximately fifty miles east of Kansas City, Missouri on highway 50, the Warrensburg R-VI School District serves 3,400+ students from pre-K to adult learners with approximately 560 staff. The district has a population of over 26,000 which includes military connected families of Whiteman Air Force Base. The community is home to the University of Central Missouri, Enersys Energy Products Inc., Western Missouri Medical Center, and a Dollar Tree Distribution Center. The new superintendent will be highly visible and involved in the community, and must have the ability to foster strong, cooperative relationships with all stakeholders. The person selected for this position will be someone of the highest integrity who will build on the positive culture of trust, respect, and success that exists among the governing board, administration, staff,
students, and community.

The Qualifications: The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership, including the following desired characteristics.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher

• Must have or be eligible to obtain a Missouri Superintendent Certificate
• Possesses evidence of a proven track record that includes experience in leadership roles above the level of school principal, involving increased responsibility over time indicating familiarity with
varying aspects of leadership, politics, finance, and management of the K-12 education sector as
well as the needs of diverse learners
• A community leader with a high level of moral character, integrity, and good judgement as well
as the ability to collaborate with different constituencies or interest groups to establish and
achieve strategic goals
• Demonstrated experience and involvement with students, teachers, staff, and the community as an
educational leader

Preferred
• Possession of a terminal degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.).
• A community leader who has prior education, knowledge, and experience applying provisions of
Missouri law in a public school district.
• Prior superintendent or central office experience
• Has Classroom teaching experience in a public school.
Salary: The term of the contract and salary will be negotiated based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and personal/professional qualifications. Anticipated range of $175,000 to $195,000
