The Mountain View-Birch Tree R-III School District invites candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools for the 2023-2024 school year.  This position is becoming available due to the retirement of our current superintendent.

Application Guidelines

  • Completed district application found on the district website.
  • Letter of application, addressed to the board of education.  Please include your reasons for interest in this position as well as a description of significant accomplishments in the last few years.
  • Current resume.  Please include the name, title, address, and phone number for three to five individuals willing to serve as professional references.
  • Copies of all College/University transcripts.
  • Evidence of Missouri Superintendent’s Certification or eligibility thereof.
  • Any other supporting documents that would enhance the application file.

  • School Board Screening of Applications: November 14-18
  • Applicant Interviews: November 21-December 14
  • Hiring and announcement of new superintendent: December 15

Position Information

  • Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience
  • Initial Contract: Two years
  • Administrative experience required.  Central office experience preferred.
  • Superintendent certificate or proof of eligibility required
