Assist with the oversight and coordination of the special education program for students with disabilities, ages 3-21.  Assure Federal, State and District compliance in areas of assigned responsibility.  Collaborate with administrators regarding student and personnel issues.  Assist in the development of budget requests and monitor expenditures pertinent to areas of assigned responsibility.  Participate in the recruitment, selection, and assignment of all special education personnel. Assist the Executive Director as the District liaisons for special education.  Supervise assigned special education faculty and staff.  MAP-A testing coordinator for district.  Responsible for paraprofessional hiring, training, and evaluation.  Assist in the development and provision of professional development for special education personnel.  Assist in the coordination of the district homebound instructional program as well as summer school and extended school year services for students with disabilities.  Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.


Master's Degree required.  Missouri Special Education Administration Certificate preferred.  Five or more years of successful experience in the field of special education preferred.  Three or more years of successful experience as a process coordinator preferred.  Missouri Teaching Certificate in at least one (1) area of special education preferred.  Effective communicator, team builder, goal achiever with a strong work ethic.  A strong knowledge of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and effective instructional strategies.  Participate in District collaboration.  Strong technology skills and knowledge of differentiated instruction and special education compliance.  Experience and leadership abilities in the area of special education; sensitivity to the needs and objectives of the District and the ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others.  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
